Boxwood Gulch Fishing Report for Fri, 27 Apr 2007

April was an unusual month because of very low water and colder than normal temperatures. Roberts Tunnel is still not turned on so we are working with natural stream flows.
The fishing was still great.

These are some results from typical trips in April:
April 29th…12 anglers….Outfitter was John Hagen Outdoors..371 fish landed largest a 8lb Bow.
April 26th…3 anglers…Outfitter was The Hatch…160 landed…largest a 24 ” Brown.
April 27th..9 anglers…Outfitter was the FlyFisher…200+ fish landed…largest a 25 inch Bow.
April 20th…2 anglers…Outfitter the Hatch…30+ landed…largest a 19″ Cutbow.
April 7th…10 anglers…Outfitter John Hagen Outdoors…190 landed…largest a 21″ Brown
April 6th…2 anglers…outfitter The Hatch…50 landed…largest a 21″ Bow.

Very good results for tough conditions. The hot flies were Soft Hackle Nymphs, Prince Nymphs, Pheasant Tails in red, black and brown size 18-22, Streamers, pink worms, egg patterns, Zug Bugs, Leeches, Hares Ears, Midges. We even had a little dry fly action on the warmer days.
Don’t worry about the flies because your guide will have the right stuff just in case you don’t.
