We sell the Highland steers by the ½ carcass or ¼ carcass. The animals are delivered to a USDA inspected packing plant, cut to your specifications and then you can pick up your beef at our ranch or we can ship it, via Fed Ex., to you.
All the animals are born and or raised at Boxwood Gulch Ranch. They only eat our grass and hay for 24-30 months; no hormones-no steroids-no chemicals-no stress-no crowded feed lot conditions. We finish feeding the steers on corn and barley for 6-8 weeks before butchering. After butchering the carcass is then aged for 14-21 days before cutting and packaging. After packaging, the meat is flash frozen.
We charge (call for current price) for the cut and wrapped meat. You don't pay for any waste, skin, extra bones or processing costs. Shipping to you is an additional charge.
A side of beef will give you about 200 lbs. of packaged meat. A quarter or split side will give you about 100 lbs. of packaged beef.

If you are interested, we ask for a deposit of $400.00 for a ½ of a steer or $200.00 for a ¼ of a steer. The balance is due prior to pick up or shipment to you and is based on the actual weight of the packaged beef.
We only raise a few animals at a time and usually have the beef ready for delivery in December. If you want to be eating Highland Beef for the Holidays order now.
