Phyllis is not holding a fish she landed in Alaska. She is displaying a huge Boxwood Gulch Rainbow that she caught using a WD40 in early June.
Our water in June never got real dirty or very high and anglers were able to sight fish for trout like this. In fact, I watched Marcello, the guide out of The Hatch Fly Shop, point out 2 Big Browns. Phyliss put the fly on their nose and landed both of them.
Overall fishing in June was excellent. High, slightly off colored water provided some extra cover for the anglers and they made the most of it by landing many really large fish.
