Gavin Platz All my flyfishing has been done in the Tropical Saltwaters of Queensland with an occasional trip with my son Michael to fish for Saratoga and Bass in our billabongs and rivers . In April last year , During the I.S.F.Expo . Bryan , Cammy and I were sitting in a 25 ft boat just out the back of the surf line off the Sunshine Coast , Queensland , Australia . 20 - 30 lb Tuna everywhere .

Bryan had just landed a World Record ' Longtail Tuna ' and had Broken the reel foot on his reel , Cam Sigler Jr also hooked and landed a pending Longtail and broke a 10 wt rod . Bryan P looked up and said " When you come to Denver , I'm taking you to Boxwood Gulch and get you hooked into some ' BIG PIGS '

Well here it's September ' 98, I carn't believe it , I'm chewing on a fresh cooked biscuit and Barry our guide is pointing out 2 ' BIG PIGS ' ( I now know are trophy trout )in a hole right behind the camp at Boxwood Gulch . I'm itching to fish but everyone is easing into the day.

Bryan , Renee and Pete knew this was going to be a a long day . What a day it was !!! With Barry's expert guiding , I scored a fish on my 1st or 2nd cast and 4 different species for the day .Thanks for showing me , the Atomic Ant , the Saratoga love them !!!

I'd love to say , I caught the most fish , or at least , how many fish we caught but I carn't . All I can say is , I caught good fish all day an a really pretty river nestled in a beautiful valley with my good friends Renee , Bryan , Pete.
